History

Vybion began in 1995 developing HIV peptide mimetics with NIH funding as well as a recombinant protein reagent business. The HIV drug was abandoned and the reagent business was monetized in a sale to Meridian Biosciences in mid 2008. Vybion’s core competencies in molecular biology and process development were applied to contract biopharmaceutical development for early stage as well as several larger biotech and Pharma companies. Vybion developed drugs for diabetes, inflammatory disease, autoimmune disease, cancer, and several other therapeutic areas.

The Company has used core capabilities to evaluate numerous technologies in collaborations, funded by NIH, for evaluating the suitability for commercialization. Both ProCode and CoMab/CoFab were evaluated through this process prior to licensing.

Today, Vybion is a development stage biopharma company with a platform technology for developing a drug pipeline and a drug to enter clinical trials in early 2010.
