Director: Vybion Contract Services

Description: This successful applicant will manage a group of scientists and technicians who are engaged in preclinical development from molecular cloning through final upstream and downstream process development including analytical methods. The Director is responsible for developing and managing recombinant cloning, clone development, fermentation/bioreactor development and optimization, protein process (extraction, refolding as required), purification method development and scale up operations and will be involved in technology transfer to GMP. He/she will be the direct contact with clients and will prepare quotes and budgets for projects for approval. The Director will assume full responsibility for contract project development.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of scientists and technicians in fermentation, process development and analytical development
  • Develop protocols and methods consistent with regulatory requirements
  • Communicate with stakeholders including clients
  • Develop project quotes, timelines, budgets and resource analysis

Qualifications:
  • MS/Ph.D. in Biotechnology or related filed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven supervisory skills
  • At least five years of experience in process development and DSP
  • Experience in GLP and/or GMP environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with technical and nontechnical staff and clients
